Beautiful gardens and smoke-free air

Once upon a time in Punjab, Chandigarh was the hot and happening city. It was where education thrived and government jobs ruled. Most of the times on the roads you saw young students in their colourful clothes and bindaas styles, studying in Panjab University and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research. Chandigarh offered the ideal stress-free, clean, green environment.

The homes had short walls, the city had huge roads and all Punjab and Haryana government offices are located here. The pace of the city then was slow, no longer though. It’s loaded with people and cars now, but still remains one of the more beautiful cities in India with streets lined with tall trees.

The mainstay then and now are the sprawling gardens. It has the famous Rock Garden and the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden. And then there’s Sukhna Lake. Sector 17 had the most happening market then…
