So what exactly is the Deccan region? It’s the Deccan plateau making up the north-western parts of Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. And in this region, also comes northeast corner of Chattisgarh. Let me share what I learned in Chennai and maybe it would help you too:

  1. Language and dialect: The script here is completely different from the North and the East, so you might not understand the language. But luckily most people here understand English. So best to carry a guide or learn a few words and then go.
