It was a mature couple, who lived in different cities. The husband worked in the Army and the wife in a publishing house. Until that annual holiday in Sikkim and she came back with tales galore of how the gorgeous state had been a magical treat. Three things you must do:

Visit Pelling to see the amazing sunrise on Mt Kanchenjunga or Khangchendzonga

Around 115km from Gangtok, Khangchendzonga is located at a height of 2150m. It is the world’s third-highest peak. Watching the sun rise over the snow-clad peak, spreading its different colours over the white mountains, is a sight which weaves a spell. Amidst the serene, tranquil ambience with the special one, this becomes an even more special moment.

Khangchendzonga is also the guardian deity of Sikkim. And honouring this deity every year is the three-day Khangchendzonga Festival from 24-26 December. Here, one can enjoy white-water rafting, kayaking, trekking, mountain biking, flower exhibitions, traditional crafts and ethnic food.
