Year of the Rooster: Pan Asian, ITC Sheraton, celebrates

The 10th animal in the 12-year cycle of Chinese astrology, the rooster represents fidelity and punctuality. And celebrating this in a unique way is Pan Asian restaurant at ITC Sheraton, Saket, Delhi. A menu which is full of healthy greens, superfoods and stuffed chicken, it has been curated by Executive Sous Chef Vaibhava Bhargava. And there’s just three days left—this special menu is available till January 30, 2017 only.

Not only well plated, the dishes are also healthy. The Peking style chicken stuffed with sticky rice is a must-eat, as is the quinoa salad. The meal, of course, begins with soup. On offer are chicken and chive wonton, egg drop tomato and pok choy, detox broth. The starters I enjoyed were exotic mushrooms tomato chili.

Among the main course, the vegetarians might enjoy szechuan tofu, stir fried pok choy, black mushroom and bamboo shoot. And for the fish lovers, there’s the yummy Hong Kong style pomfret. Wind up with banana spring roll or fried ice cream with strawberry sauce. But the Chef treated us to a special, fresh fruit with chocolate sauce, it was a dish to remember. And some dishes are also going to find their way to the new menu, to be announced shortly by the hotel.

About the Chefs

Executive Sous Chef Sheraton ND, Vaibhava Bhargava, spearheads the Pan Asian restaurant and is a Member of ICF Indian culinary forum and of WACS world association of chef’s societies. He has worked at NOMA restaurant Denmark, two Michelin star restaurants, Pellegrino (best restaurant in world 2011/2012) and Zuma (Abu Dhabi).

Chinese Chef is from Shanghai and loves his stint in India. Sometimes, he goes to the streets to taste what’s there. At the hotel, he dines on Indian food too.
