As six-year-old Iceland-based WOW air gets ready to launch operations from Delhi in December 2018, CEO & Founder Skúli Mogensen shares more about the budget airlines:
Iceland has not been a traditional destination for Asians. What made you decide to start flights from Delhi?
WOW is six years old. We do fly across Europe and North America. And India is aptly located to tap into the Asian markets. We have partnered with the Bird group in India.
What would be the flight connectivity from Delhi to Iceland?
We would have five flights a week. And eventually we hope to have daily flights.
What is the USP of WOW?
We offer favourable pricing. Even with that, we do have 42 premium seats in the Airbus 330 that has 365 seats.
Any plans of foraging into the cargo sector?
Yes, that is among the new plans.
What would India love about Iceland?
Come, listen to the silence of Iceland!
WOW air currently operates a fleet of 19 aircraft and will have flights to American destinations via Keflavik airport in Reykjavik, Iceland. The basic fare will be INR 13,499 (one way) on these flights. This includes all taxes, but excludes meal and check-in baggage, which will be charged separately.
