Candle Light with Canon EOS 200D

Canon EOS 200D: Travel Writer’s Delight

Pictures and memories bring back happy times, but for writers, pictures bring their world alive.

Among the few things that I learned after getting out of a full-time job as a journalist that I needed to be my own master in visual content. It’s been many years that I have been experimenting with pictures for newspapers and magazines but the learning doesn’t stop. From smartphone photography to buying my first DSLR and finally, a trial run of Canon EOS 200D, visual content has changed the way I work now.

The camera is a delight for those who are beginning to take the art of photography seriously. There are multiple features and effects that add value. The menu is a graphic guide which obviously makes it very easy to navigate through the camera. That solves the problem for people who work on their own and have to give results within 24 hours. Newspapers have deadlines!

For this fast pace, I liked the special scenes feature. This solves a lot of the problem as the ambience comes out really good. I tried my hand at the landscape, close-up, portraits, and candle light.

Only the night scenes needed a little practice as I didn’t get what I was looking for. Even for the motion scenes, I should practice more, but more or less it became an effortless exercise to shoot fast-moving objects and people.

There are Creative Filters too, so you can actually do a lot of editing on the camera.

The camera is pretty light, so it doesn’t add any strain. It’s also not a large-sized camera, so can fit into any bag easily.

The good part is the in-built WiFi. This works well for a social media geek who can transfer and upload immediately. There is Bluetooth as well.

Another feature I liked was the video mode. Without any interference, it captures all the sounds and the range is quite a good one. The quality is good and sharp.

For those who experiment a lot, ISO range goes from 100-25,600.

Something which I didn’t try was self-portrait but selfie lovers can have a field day, for the pictures certainly are better than smartphone selfies.

All in all, this is a user-friendly camera and offers quality for amateurs turning professionals.
