The healthiest nation in the world, the average age in Japan is 84 years. And this health is credited to Washoku or Japanese cuisine. In 2013, the cuisine became part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. Japanese cuisine is in sync wih fresh food, seasons and freshness. It respects the energy that comes from the source of food.
Promoting Japanese food and giving certifications to Japanese Food and Ingredient Supporter Stores Overseas, H.E. Mr. Kenji Hiramatsu, the Ambassador of Japan to India, organised a special Japanese food demonstration lecture by Chef Ishikawa at his residence. The chef is famous for his sushi creations and works with Shigenoya. And after this the guests got to taste of the cuisine via pop-ups by Japanese restaurants in India and Hospitality Purchasing Managers’ Forum (HPMF).
The Ambasador also gave certifications to Japanese restaurants, making them official “Japanese Food Supporters”.
